The US Women’s Open will be held at Champions Golf Club in Houston from June 3 through June 7, 2020. US Women’s Open betting will be a challenge with the field of golfers we have in the LPGA today.

Top 10 LPGA Golfers

This is a unique list that I like to include to compare and contrast each player for US Women’s Open betting and how they stack up to the rest of the competition. These golfers have played consistently well enough to make the top 10 in the official world golf ranking list.

I like to view this as a starting point for looking at the US Women’s Open odds. However, I would also argue that some players are better than others, and I would personally change a few around. But I believe this is as close as possible to determine the order of consistency among these ladies.

  1. Jin-Young Ko (Korea)
  2. Sung Hyun Park (Korea)
  3. Nelly Korda (USA)
  4. Nasa Hataoka (Japan)
  5. Minjee Lee (Australia)
  6. Jeongeun Lee6 (Korea)
  7. Brooke Henderson (Canada)
  8. Danielle Kang (USA)
  9. Lexi Thompson (USA)
  10. Ariya Jutanugarn (Thailand)

Rankings are subject to change.

Top 10 LPGA 2019 US Open Results

These ladies placed in the top 10 at last year’s event. This could potentially be another gauge to see what US Women’s Open odds could look like and how to bet on them.

I see this also as a motivational point of view. Some golfers may view this and be motivated to do better at this tournament.

Jeongeun Lee6 took the 2019 title, shooting 6-under for the tournament. She finished two strokes above a three-way tie for second between Angel Yin, Lexi Thompson and So-Yeon Ryu.

One stroke behind them was a five-way tie for fifth between Celine Boutier, Yu Liu, Mamiko Higa, Jaye Marie Green, and Gerina Piller.

Jessica Korda and Ally McDonald rounded out the top 10 in a tie at 2-under.

Top Five Picks That Could Win

Jeongeun Lee6 is the defending champion of this event. Lee6 is also ranked No. 6 in the world rankings for the best LPGA golfer. She had 10 top 10 finishes in 2019, so she is off to an excellent start.

Lexi Thompson tied for second place last time at this event. Thompson is also ranked ninth in the ladies’ world rankings. She had seven top 10 finishes in 2019, and I look for her to continue her consistency in 2020.

So Yeon Ryu also tied for second place last year at this event. Ryu is the 17th overall best golfer, according to the rankings. She had four top 10 finishes in 2019.

Yu Liu tied for fifth place last year at this event. Liu is the 36th overall best golfer based on the rankings. She has 10 career top 10 finishes, and seven of them are from 2019 alone.

Jessica Korda tied for 10th place at this event last time. Korda is ranked the 16th-best golfer in the world, according to the rankings. She had five top 10 finishes in 2019.

Who Will Win The U.S Women’s Open?

The lineup of lady golfers to win this event is astounding. All of them have great potential to run away with this event or turn it into another tight race. As with last year’s event, US Women’s Open betting will be difficult since most of them tied to various places.

Some of these picks could almost be decided by a coin flip. My first thought was to pick the defending champion, Lee6. She has been on a tear of late with those top 10 finishes in 2019. The US Women’s Open odds are rightfully in her favor. She will definitely have something to say once this tournament comes around.

But my belief has shifted towards a new winner. I believe the winner will be Liu. I think her current ranking of 36th does not suit her for how well she has been performing. She is playing as good as anyone right now, especially with those top-10 finishes she keeps getting.

She seems to be right where she needs to be at the end of events, but she gets beat out by someone else playing just a little better than her.

I look for Liu to claim a solid victory here. Snagging the win will be a great addition to her resume, but she will definitely have some great competition here. Being a 2018 rookie, she is well on her way to a great career with a victory at the LPGA US Open.
